About This Site

Though I work as a professional artist in a wide range of mediums and styles, this site is for my personal, daily paintings in oil. Each piece will be offered at auction here, or sold in my Etsy shop.

Artist Statement

My interests are varied, stemming from a love of reading and learning since I was very young. I tend to cast my net wide, from subjects ranging from math and physics to biology and literature and history.

My artwork tends to be a reflection of my need to simplify while dealing with involved stories, complex theories of color and light, and of course chaos. The objects I decide to paint are deceptively simple subjects that give me a chance to observe, respond, and create. My work is a balance between analyzing and synthesizing, and the abstract and the concrete.

However intellectual my work may be for me, I also want my paintings to be that just that: paintings. I want people to look at my work and not have to think, just experience the pleasure of a simple, silent moment.

I am drawn to fruit and vegetables because of their colors, and handmade utilitarian objects because of their connections to other creators.
